Privacy Notice
SHARDS OF ELDOR
PRIVACY NOTICE
This Privacy Notice explains how Unfathomed Games LLC ("Unfathomed Games," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information in connection with Shards of Eldor / Eldor, its launcher, authentication systems, servers, websites, test portals, support systems, and related playtest services (collectively, the "Services"). It applies where this Notice is presented.
1. Information We Collect
A. Account and Authentication Information
We may process email address; username or account name; account and character identifiers; invitation or access status; account creation and status; login history; authentication, session, and security events; and authentication credentials or credential-derived information necessary to authenticate and secure accounts. We do not need your plaintext password for gameplay-server operations.
B. Community, Support, and Communications
If you interact with official community, testing, support, survey, bug-reporting, or communication channels, we may process your username or platform identifier, role/access status, messages and attachments you submit, bug reports, support requests, survey responses, player reports, and communications reasonably necessary to operate, moderate, secure, investigate, or enforce rules for the Services. Discord and other third-party platforms independently process information under their own terms and privacy practices.
C. Character and Gameplay Information
- character identifiers, names, appearance, inventory, equipment, skills, attributes, progression, and persistent state;
- in-game position and world location, combat, crafting, gathering, economy, virtual currency and item transactions, quests, notoriety, world interactions, session history, and gameplay/server events;
- other game state reasonably necessary to provide, test, secure, balance, and improve the Services.
In-game position describes a character's position inside the Game and is not intended to represent precise real-world location.
D. Technical, Device, Diagnostic, and Network Information
- IP address, connection timestamps, network and connection information;
- operating system, Game/launcher version, language or regional settings, and device or hardware information reasonably necessary for compatibility or troubleshooting;
- graphics/performance information, crash data, error logs, server logs, diagnostics, and security events.
An IP address may indicate an approximate geographic area. We do not intentionally collect GPS-level precise real-world location for normal playtest gameplay.
E. Security, Integrity, and Anti-Abuse Information
We may collect or generate failed-login information, suspicious requests or account activity, gameplay/server events, suspected cheating or exploitation, item/economy anomalies, duplication attempts, access information, security logs, reports from other users, and information reasonably necessary to investigate violations or protect the Game, players, accounts, servers, and economy.
F. Information You Voluntarily Provide
We may process additional information you voluntarily provide in surveys, testing discussions, bug reports, feedback, support, or direct communications. Do not submit sensitive personal information unless necessary for us to address your request.
2. Information We Do Not Intend to Collect
- precise GPS or equivalent real-world geolocation;
- fingerprints, facial-recognition templates, voiceprints, or genetic information;
- health diagnoses;
- financial-account credentials or full payment-card data;
- government identification numbers;
- other highly sensitive information unrelated to operation of the playtest.
Please do not provide this information through Game chat, community channels, support, or bug reports. If our practices materially change, we will update this Notice and provide any notice or consent required by applicable law.
3. How and Why We Use Information
- create, authenticate, secure, and administer accounts and playtest access;
- provide multiplayer gameplay and load, save, and maintain characters and persistent game state;
- operate servers, networking, inventories, progression, economy, and other gameplay systems;
- detect, prevent, investigate, and respond to cheating, exploitation, fraud, duplication, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents;
- diagnose crashes, errors, compatibility, networking, and performance problems;
- balance, test, analyze, develop, and improve the Game and evaluate playtests;
- moderate communications, investigate reports, provide support, and communicate with testers;
- protect our systems, players, rights, property, Confidential Information, and intellectual property;
- preserve evidence of serious violations or incidents; comply with law and valid legal process; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We may use aggregated or deidentified information for development, balancing, analytics, research, and planning when it is not reasonably capable of being linked to an identifiable individual.
4. Automated Game and Security Systems
Automated software may validate actions, resolve gameplay, process inventory transactions, save state, detect invalid or suspicious requests, enforce gameplay rules, record events, identify abnormal behavior, and protect the Game economy. These systems are used to operate and secure the Services and are not intended to make decisions about employment, credit, housing, insurance, health care, or similarly significant real-world matters.
5. Sources of Information
We may receive information directly from you; automatically through your use of the Services; from our authentication and game systems; from hosting, infrastructure, security, support, or other providers acting on our behalf; from third-party community platforms when you choose to interact there; and from other users who submit reports concerning Game activity.
6. How We Disclose Information
We do not sell personal information for money and, for this playtest, do not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.
Service Providers
We may disclose information to vendors and contractors that process it on our behalf for hosting, authentication, storage, email, websites, crash reporting, security, support, and infrastructure. We seek to limit disclosure to information reasonably necessary for the service and to use appropriate contractual or other safeguards where required.
Legal, Security, and Safety
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process; respond to lawful government requests; investigate fraud, cheating, unauthorized access, security incidents, or misuse; protect players, Company, systems, rights, property, Confidential Information, or intellectual property; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Business Transactions and Your Direction
Information may be disclosed or transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law. We may also disclose information at your direction or with valid consent.
7. Third-Party Services
Third-party platforms and providers may have their own privacy practices. When you interact directly with a third party, its privacy terms generally govern its independent processing. This Notice does not control independent third-party processing. We will not describe a provider as acting solely on our behalf when it independently determines its own purposes and means of processing.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for no longer than reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Notice, taking account of the nature of the information, operational needs, security, dispute resolution, contractual enforcement, legal requirements, and backup cycles. Retention differs by category.
- account and character data may be retained while the account/playtest remains active and for a reasonable period afterward for administration, recovery, security, or dispute purposes;
- gameplay and diagnostic data may be retained as reasonably necessary for development, testing, balancing, troubleshooting, integrity, and security;
- security/authentication logs may outlast a gameplay session where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse or protect the Services;
- support and communications records may be retained while needed to resolve the matter and maintain appropriate records;
- information relevant to suspected fraud, security incidents, contractual violations, intellectual-property disputes, or legal claims may be retained longer where reasonably necessary;
- deleted information may remain temporarily in backups until overwritten or expired under normal backup processes;
- deidentified or aggregated information that is not reasonably linkable to an individual may be retained for development, research, statistical, or planning purposes.
Pre-release character progression and Game data may be reset or deleted independently of privacy retention.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or destruction. Measures may include authentication and authorization controls, access restrictions, logging, session security, network-security practices, separation of systems where appropriate, backup/recovery practices, and limiting access to persons or systems with a reasonable need. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your credentials and should promptly report suspected compromise.
10. Privacy Requests and Choices
Depending on your residence and applicable law, you may have rights to request confirmation of processing, access, correction, deletion, portability, or information about our practices, and to exercise other rights provided by applicable law. Submit requests to Admin@Eldorgame.com with the subject 'Eldor Privacy Request.' We may take reasonable steps to verify identity and authority before fulfilling a request. We may retain or withhold information where permitted or required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or legal claims. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.
Because the current playtest does not sell personal information or use it for third-party targeted advertising, there is currently no sale/targeted-advertising opt-out necessary for those practices. If that changes, we will update this Notice and provide legally required choices.
11. Account Deletion
Account-deletion requests may be submitted to Admin@Eldorgame.com. Deletion may permanently remove access to characters, inventory, equipment, skills, progression, virtual property, account history, and other Game data. Some information may remain temporarily in backups or be retained where reasonably necessary or legally permitted for security, fraud prevention, contractual enforcement, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.
12. Children and Age Restrictions
The confidential playtest is intended only for adults age 18 or older. We do not knowingly authorize persons under 18 to participate. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information online from children under 13. If we obtain actual knowledge that we collected personal information online from a child under 13 without legally sufficient authorization, we will take appropriate steps consistent with applicable law, which may include deleting the information and terminating access. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us.
13. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our websites, account portals, or launcher-related web services may use cookies or similar technologies for account sessions, authentication, security, preferences, abuse prevention, and basic functionality. If we introduce analytics, advertising, or other non-essential tracking that requires additional notice or consent, we will provide it before use where required by law.
14. Real-World Location, Biometrics, Camera, and Microphone
Normal playtest gameplay does not require GPS-level precise real-world location, biometric identifiers, or surveillance through your camera or microphone. If we introduce voice chat, biometric identification, age-verification technology, precise-location features, or other materially different processing, we will provide appropriate disclosures and obtain consent where required before that processing.
15. International Users and Transfers
The Services are operated from the United States. Information may be processed or stored in the United States and in locations where our service providers operate. Privacy laws differ by jurisdiction. Where applicable law imposes additional requirements concerning international transfers or grants additional rights, we will comply to the extent those requirements apply to us.
16. Data Incidents
If we discover a security incident involving personal information, we will investigate and take steps we consider appropriate to contain and remediate the incident. We will provide notifications to affected individuals, regulators, or others when required by applicable law.
17. Changes to This Notice
We may update this Notice as the Services and our practices develop. The Last Updated date identifies the current revision. For material changes, we will provide notice appropriate to the significance of the change, such as through the launcher, login flow, email, website, playtest portal, or another reasonable mechanism. Where law requires consent rather than notice, we will seek that consent before beginning the affected processing.
